‘Marley and Me’ starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson isn’t just your average comedy movie. The film is absolutely hilarious, but there are also some very serious parts that will probably leave you in tears.

I saw Marley and Me at the cinema when it was first released and there were definitely a few sniffles and sobs during the showing! Marley and Me follows the story of a young career-minded couple John and Jen (Owen & Aniston) who find themselves with the world’s worst dog, Marley.

Marley the cute puppy soon grows into an energetic 100lb Labrador and whilst he provides great anecdotes for John’s newspaper column, he also causes some problems for the newly weds.

Three children and a house move later, Marley is still running riot in the family household. When his age catches up with him though, the Grogan family realise that Marley won’t be around forever.

Rated PG, Marley and Me is probably one of the best family films of 2009. There will be plenty of laughs and a fair few tears, but if your going to watch any film this year Marley and Me should be it.

I don’t know what everyone else thinks, but I think it’s totally refreshing to finally see a comedy in which the main animal character doesn’t talk! It’s definitely more realistic and there’s something almost everyone can relate to in the plot of Marley and Me.

‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston is the girly romantic comedy that every guy secretly wants to watch (probably because of the female cast, but that’s besides the point)!

It’s not often that a good movie is released that features so many A-list celebrities, but ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ has plenty! The cast includes Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johanssen, Justin Long, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper. If that’s not enough to give you your celebrity fix then I don’t know what is!

He’s Just Not That Into You is about relationships (or lack of them) and men who don’t commit. Since the age of 5, Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) has believed that if a boy ignores you it’s actually because he likes you. This is all thanks to her Mother’s ill-given advice, which has lead her to a life of failed relationships and misery.

The movie has various sub-plots which follow the stories of other women and their struggle with existing or new partners, including monogamist Beth (Jennifer Aniston) who’s boyfriend of 7 years (Ben Affleck) doesn’t believe in marriage. Although ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ is undeniably a chic flick, viewers are given both male and female perspectives on situations involving love and lust.

I think men could enjoy this film just as much as women, because there’s plenty of laughs and never a dull moment. He’s Just Not That Into You is an honest film that will answer many of your questions about the opposite sex and can give you an insight into how their mind really works.

He’s Just Not That Into You was released in the cinemas early February 2009 and has already received shining reviews from critics. It is based on the book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, both of whom worked on Sex and the City.

Tickets for one of biggest music events of the year will go on sale next week. It may not be Glastonbury or the Reading Festival, but T4 On The Beach remains a big hit with music fans everywhere year after year.

T4 On The Beach is held annually in Weston-Super-Mare and this year will see the sixth beach party that will no doubt feature a whole host of the hottest celebrities and bands. This year the 2009 T4 On The Beach party will be held on Sunday 19th July and it’s predicted to be another sell out event.

Yes Man on DVD - Available to Pre-order from HMV for £11.99

The film ‘Yes Man’ starring Jim Carrey is based on the 2005 book and true story ‘The Yes Man’ by Danny Wallace.

‘Yes Man’ tells the story of Carl Allen, a bank employee who has a bleak outlook on life. Since divorcing his ex-wife Stephanie (Molly Sims), Carl has withdrawn from life and prefers to stay at home having a DVD marathon that to go out with his friends.

Carl will avoid social gatherings at all costs and is an extremely negative man, but when he bumps into his old friend Nick (John Michael Higgins) his whole life takes a dramatic turn.

Nick is what’s known as a “yes man” and persuades Carl to go and see the guru Terrence Bundley (Terence Stamp) and attend one of his Yes! seminars.

Carl reluctantly agrees to start saying “yes” to every opportunity that presents itself to him, which ends up getting him into some sticky situations including giving a homeless man a lift, joining a Persian dating website, having an unfortunate intimate experience with a much older women and taking up Korean language classes.

Not all the situations he finds himself in are bad though, as accepting more invitations leads him to meet Allison (Zooey Deschanel), a quirky young lady who he becomes instantly smitten with.

However, when Allison finds out that Carl was only saying yes to things (including moving in with her) because he “had to” she doubts whether his commitment was ever true. When Carl’s ex-wife Stephanie turns to him for a shoulder to cry on when she splits up with her new bloke, Carl is even more confused.

It seems saying “yes” to everything wasn’t such a good idea after all…

If you like Jim Carrey in ‘Liar Liar’ and the Ace Ventura movies, you’ll love ‘Yes Man’. Carrey hasn’t lost his touch just yet and is definitely the master of comedy.

Yes Man is the sort of film that you could watch fifty times and still find hilarious!
