New Nintendo DSi
The new Nintendo DSi, the second upgrade to the Nintendo DS, is set to be released in Europe on April 3rd 2009 and will be the Daddy of all hand-held consoles.
The must-have Nintendo DSi will be available in two colours, matt black or stark white, and the easy to use technology means your Gran can enjoy the funky hand held console just as much as you will!
The only thing missing from the new Nintendo DSi that was present in the old DS Lite is the GBA (Game Boy Advanced) expansion slot, but there’s really no need to worry, as the DSi has a SD Memory slot to hold music and photos.
“What photos?” I hear you ask! Well, the Nintendo DSi has two 0.3 megapixel cameras built in to take 640 x 480 pixel photos. The camera in the hinge of the DSi and can be used as a webcam when you’re surfing the net on the built-in web browser!
You’ll be able to download new games using Nintendo Points when you use the DSWare application, which Nintendo are also launching very soon.
Even though the LCD screens on the shiny new Nintendo DSi are bigger than those of the DS Lite at 3.25 inches, the DSi is thinner and lighter in weight (12% thinner in fact)!
Other fantastic features of the Nintendo DSi include improved speakers for better sound quality – great for those of you using the console to learn a language.
The stylus that comes with the DSi is also 4.5mm longer than that of its predecessor and (get this) you can even edit your pictures on the DSi touch screens.
For those of you who still haven’t been convinced, the DSi also has pitch and playback features and even though the DSi cameras only have a 0.3 megapixel resolution, they include 11 special lenses to enable users to add special effects to their pictures.
I think it’s becoming clear that the Nintendo DSi is THE hand-held games console of 2009.
