LG F1402FDS6 Direct Drive 9kg Steam Washing Machine

LG F1402FDS6 Direct Drive 9kg Steam Washing Machine

Did you know that steam cleans better than water?

With that in mind, it’s handy to know that the LG F1402FDS6 Washing Machine is the first to incorporate innovative steam technology to improve the washing process.

I don’t think the concept of a washing machine has ever excited or interested me in the slightest, until now…

The LG Steam Direct Drive Washing Machine has a massive 9kg load capacity and a 35cm door, meaning you can get tonnes (not literally) of clothes in and out of the appliance at ease.

Direct Drive technology has been used to minimise noise and vibration, as the motor is attached to the centre of the drum unlike normal washing machines. Fab… your TV volume may no longer have to contend with the sound of the spin cycle!

The LG F1402FDS6 Steam Washing Machine won the Get Connected 2008 Product Of The Year Award.

Why? Simple. The LG Steam Washing Machine has a large LCD screen and simple control panels.

It’s a stylish appliance available in black, white and grey and the steam technology means less ironing, cleaner clothes and makes it more energy efficient.

I know your just dying to find out how this works, so here’s the low down.

Steam molecules are smaller and hotter than water making it easier for them to penetrate fabrics and destroy all the dirt, allergens and odors they might come across. Science lesson over.

The LG Steam Direct Drive Washing Machine also boasts a ‘Steam Refresh’ cycle that takes 20 minutes and refreshes your clothes to give them a ‘just-washed’ feel.

It has a super speedy 1400 spin and A++ energy rated. The bigger drum means your clothes will be washed better and are less likely to get tangled.

The LG Direct Drive washing machine uses around 35% less water than a conventional washing machine and also 21% less energy, which is why it’s ‘energy saving recommended’.

It’s a clever little machine too, as it weighs each load to see how much water and energy is required. Impressive, we know!

Forgive me for banging on about the credit-crunch, but the best thing about the LG steam washing machine is the amount of money it will save you due to the low water consumption.

Features include refresh, allergy care, baby care, cotton, cotton-quick, synthetic, delicate, hand wash/wool and quick30 cycles, so whatever you’re washing there’s a program for it!

The best place to shop for your affordable LG F1402FDS6 Steam Direct Drive Washing Machine is Comet, where it’s available for the bargain price of £618.96.

You save £163 in the web promotion, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

Top Nespresso Coffee Maker - Magimix M200

Like most of us, we require a little help in the mornings, and often turn to a cup of coffee to wake us up on the way to the office.

But save yourself time and money by investing in a home Nespresso coffee making machine, which allows you to create perfect coffees at home.

It comes as no surprise that there are already plenty of Nespresso machines on the market, with DeLonghi, Siemens, and Magimix offering a great range to chose from. But my favourite for design, value for money and the all important quality of coffee, has to be the Magimix M200 Nespresso Coffee Maker. This Magimix Nespresso maker is finished with mirrored chrome, making it ideal for the modern home, and uses Nespresso coffee caplets that come in a vast range of flavours and strengths, offering both variety and quality.

Having had a Nespresso machine at work before, I can confirm that these machines are indeed very easy to use, and do produce excellent quality coffee. The great thing about the Magimix M200 Nespresso Coffee Maker is that it comes with a Super Froth Enhancer, allowing you to have yummy frothy coffee, and also comes with two coffee cups and a selection of Nespresso capsules to try straight away.

The average person can spend up to £500 a year on an early morning coffee, but this machine costs around £179, offering a massive potential saving.

We found the best price for the Magimix M200 Nespresso Coffee Maker at Comet for £178.99.

What is the Best Film to Test HD LCD TV 1080p - Black Hawk Down on DVD or BluRay

What is the Best Film to Test HD LCD TV 1080p - Black Hawk Down on DVD or BluRay

1080p HD Ready

1080p HD Ready

One of the most frustrating questions presented to any new owner of a ultra-modern High Definition 1080p LCD or Plasma Television or even brand new home theatre or surround sound piece of equipment is, “What is the Best DVD or BluRay Film to Demonstrate or Test my new HD TV or Home Theatre System”.

Well, here at MyShoppingTips.co.uk we have carried out the testing for you and found the best DVD is Black Hawk Down on BluRay or DVD.

When we asked our community of shoppers what films they recommended to test your new 1080p LCD or Plasma TV or even new Home Theatre DVD Sound System we had thousands of replies.

The Top Five films to meet the shortlist where; Kill Bill Volume 2, Black Hawk Down, Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, Pirates of Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl.

Under the guise of work the judging panel were able to sit down and watch these films over the space of two days in order to make a final decision on which was the ultimate test of the most modern LCD TV and Home Theatre Systems.

After much argument the panel was able to compile a list of the best scenes for each film that we felt demonstrated the best of both the surround sound home theatre system and visual aspects of the 1080p LCD TV.

In Kill Bill Volume 2 the clip that was chosen was the fight scene with the neon blue and green backgrounds that came about half way through.

In Black Hawk Down the panel were truly amazed by several clips within the film but the stand out moments were the over-head shots of the Apache Gunship careering to the ground with bullets pinging around the room in which we watched it making a few of the panel flinch at the sounds. Truly awesome!

In Apocalypse now the stand out moment was the one referenced by everyone who submitted it, i.e. Ride of the Valkyries with the helicopters coming into the scene. A spectacular combination of a moving sound track with outstanding cinematography.

In Saving Private Ryan the stand out moment comes at the very start with the Normandy landing where the fire fight is so wonderfully shot that you cannot help but sit on the edge of the seat with tension.

Pirates of Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl was the film that the judging panel was the most disappointed with. There were a lot of great cinematic and audio moments but the panel felt that they did not really compare with the previously watched films.

After watching all the films, and a 3 hour debate one clear winner emerged and that was Black Hawk Down.

The panel felt its combination of great camera work, crystal clear sound and true-life story delivered the best test of our equipment.

Our friends at CompareDVDBoxset.co.uk have found the best deals for each of the films we tested.

The equipment we tested the films on included;

Sony KDL40X3000 40″ HD Ready 1080p Digital LCD TV and a SONY DAVDZ361 Hi-Fi Surround Sound.
